In Search of a Bag

I braved the Handmade Upmarket again last weekend and this time my mission was to buy an everyday bag now that I no longer have need for a nappy bag. I found the perfect bag at the moyou stall. Amy from moyou designs and prints her own fabric (top photo), amongst other things - you can see her talent in the moyou etsy store. The bag was just lovely but I was very put off with the way her 'helper' pried it out of my hands in much the same way you would coerce a full cup of milk from a toddler! Needless to say I didn't buy it and I didn't find anything else that really caught my eye. So my search continued.
The little one and I went out to Goldcreek together for browsing and morning tea. Here I found this bag by b.sirius at The Style Emporium. Perfect! The apple and cinnamon tea at Adore Tea was good too.

Foam Letter Accidental Art

With a lot of 'help' from the boys, we cleaned the foam letters last weekend. We had a real production line going with frames, letters and inserts filling every available space. My darling husband decided they were not drying quickly enough laying flat on the table. So I came outside to find that he had slotted them all together to hasten the drying process. The overall effect was quite cool - we had created our own backyard installation.

It's Autumn

Actually it's almost winter but I never tire of autumn. I love the colours and the crisp mornings and warm days. I also love that I now live in a city that shows autumn in all its glory. We have nearly seen out an entire year in our new home and I have enjoyed watching the garden bloom, grow and now go dormant. This tree pictured is the most surprising. It sits outside our front courtyard wall and really makes our house stand out on the street.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there. I spent my morning with a number pinned to me (a first for me), did a short aerobic warm up with 1000 other people and walked a 5km circuit along the shores of Lake Burley Griffin for the Mother's Day Classic walk or run for breast cancer. The top photo was taken on my iPhone while we waited to get started. You can see what a spectacular day we had and also the number of participants - apparently over 4000! The bottom photo are me (in the middle) and my good friends and walking buddies after we'd made it home with our 'medals'. We are already planning the next one.

Wish I Was Here

Wow a long time between posts. Apologies to the 3 or so people who actually read it! I just got this reminder in my inbox of the Modern Economy one day sale - it's in San Francisco. This sale is the creation of Meg Mateo Ilasco - designer and writer. Go and have a look at some of the designers that participate if you want to be inspired. She also does an online version of this sale and last year I picked up a few goodies.
